Wedding Trends I’d Join If I Were a 2026 Bride

Posted on March 3, 2026March 3, 2026 by theevermorejournal

Wedding trends come and go faster than you can say “Pinterest board,” but every once in a while, a few ideas stick with you. From the food menu to decorations, there are always new, trendy ideas and long-standing traditional choices. Do you want to stick to what’s trendy or break the mold and try something unique? Plenty of brides choose to follow what is trending, not only because it’s simpler, but because the trends are something they really align with. If I were planning my wedding in 2026, these are the trends I’d happily lean into.

Late-Night Snacks

If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I will always be thinking about a late-night snack, so of course it would make its way into my wedding day. Late-night bites have been gaining popularity over the past year, and I don’t see them going anywhere in 2026. After hours of dancing, celebrating, and drinking, there’s something so comforting about being handed a slice of pizza, fries in a paper cone, or a warm cookie fresh from the oven. Maybe even some catered Taco Bell. Yum.

Beyond the food itself, late-night snacks create a second wave of energy at the reception. They feel casual, fun, and a little unexpected—like a reward for staying on the dance floor. Whether it’s a food truck pulling up outside the venue or a simple snack station inside, it’s one of those details guests will definitely remember.

Hiring a Content Creator

The conversation used to be photographer vs. videographer, but now, content creators are entering the mix. A wedding content creator focuses on capturing behind-the-scenes moments and short-form video content, usually shot on a phone and delivered within 24–48 hours. Think Instagram stories, TikToks, candid clips, and real-time memories you can relive almost immediately.

This doesn’t replace a videographer, but it does fill a totally different role. While traditional wedding videos are polished and cinematic, content creation feels raw, personal, and incredibly fun. I’m a big lover of social media, so if I were a 2026 bride, I’d love to have some clips to post the next day.

Vibrant Color Palettes

For years, wedding color palettes leaned heavily into neutrals and soft, muted tones. While minimalism still has its place, I love how 2026 weddings are embracing color again. Vibrant palettes instantly bring personality into a space and can make even the simplest venue feel full and alive.

This doesn’t mean every wedding needs to go full maximalist, but color can be layered in thoughtful ways: statement florals, colorful linens, patterned stationery, or even just one standout hue carried throughout the day. I love the idea of mixing timeless elements with playful pops of color—it feels fresh without being overwhelming.

Film Photography

I’m a huge lover of everything vintage, and there’s something undeniably special about film photography. It’s imperfect in the best way; it’s grainy, soft, and full of emotion. As digital photos continue to get sharper and more curated, film feels like a return to something real and nostalgic.

If I were a 2026 bride, I’d love having at least some moments captured on film, whether that’s through a hybrid photographer or a few rolls dedicated to the ceremony and portraits. Film images have a way of feeling like memories instead of just photos, and I can easily imagine them becoming the ones you frame, print, and pass down.

Vintage Decor

Just like film photos, vintage decor brings warmth and character that you just can’t replicate. Antique frames, dishes, vases, and furniture all have a heart and a story behind them, and I love that weddings are leaning into that again.

Incorporating vintage elements doesn’t have to mean going full antique shop. Even a few thoughtfully chosen items can add texture and depth to your design. It’s also a beautiful way to include family heirlooms or meaningful objects, making the day feel even more personal.

Private Vow Exchange

While sharing vows in front of guests can be incredibly powerful, there’s something so intimate about exchanging them privately. A quiet moment away from the crowd allows couples to fully be present with each other—no nerves, no audience, just the two of you.

If I were getting married in 2026, private vows paired with a more traditional ceremony is what I’d plan. It feels like the best of both worlds: a meaningful public moment, plus a deeply personal one that’s just for you. It’s also a great way to slow the day down and reconnect amid everything happening around you.

Bows (Tastefully)

Bows have definitely had their moment, and I know a lot of people are ready to declare them “over.” But I actually think bows can still work beautifully when they’re used intentionally and sparingly. The key is to keep them subtle and classic rather than trendy for the sake of being trendy.

One of my favorite ways to incorporate bows is lining the ceremony aisle, tying ribbons onto chairs or pews. It adds a romantic, almost storybook feel without overwhelming the space. When done right, bows feel elegant and timeless—not like a trend you’ll cringe at in five years.

The best weddings aren’t the ones that check every trend box; they’re the ones that reflect the couple standing at the altar. So whether you’re all in on vibrant colors and late-night pizza or keeping things classic and minimal, choose the elements that make you excited.
